Gavdos

The southernmost point of Europe is Gavdos. The natural beauty of the island still remains unspoiled. Among the most impressive sights are the steep cliffs with the lighthouse on top of them and the beaches with the cedar trees. The main town of Gavdos is Kastri with few inhabitants. There is also Sarakiniko with its beautiful and well-organized beach. The taverns of St. John are the most popular places to dine while you stay on Gavdos.  The moment you enter the path from St. John to the beach, it feels like you have left civilization.
